This is an introduction to diving also known as a PADI Discover Scuba Dive Experience rather than a certification course. You will start off with an overview about all the equipment and how to dive, basic safety guidelines, and some information about the fish and corals you wll be seeing to ensure you enjoy them without damaging them. From there, you will head into shallow water with your Dive Instructor and breathe on scuba for the first time. It is not difficult in fact, most people find it easier than snorkeling. After learning a few basic skills, you will head out to the beautiful reef just a short, easy swim away and discover the amazing underwater world first hand.
Dahab lies alongside the deepest section of the African rift, the giant crack in the earth’s crust that formed the Red Sea. Only 15km away is the Blue Hole with its jagged mountains above continuing at much the same angle underwater forming a dramatic seascape of valleys, canyons and caves. The Blue Hole earned its name not because of the hole in the rock but because from a high point the bay takes on a beautiful turquoise colour with a dark spot. This is due to its depth of approximately 100 meters and it surely ranks as one of the most amazing spots of the Sinai for snorkeling or diving.
