This India shoestring tour provides a fantastic introduction to exploring Northern India and could form the perfect start to a longer stay in India, or as a complete visit in itself. The tour combines tours of the famous 'Golden Triangle' of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur with time in the Rajasthan town of Bundi which is packed with forts, palaces and step wells. You'll start in India's capital Delhi, where tours are available to explore both the narrow streets of Old Delhi, and the contrasting, modern wide boulevards of New Delhi.

We'll then take a sleeper train to Bundi where a local guide will show us around the town and explore the fort with us. Next stop is the capital of Rajasthan, the 'Pink City' of Jaipur which is full of busy craft and produce markets and famous for its jewellery and shopping. Tours to the nearby Amber Fort and to explore different aspects of Jaipur itself are available here. 

Finally we head to Agra where we tour the hugely impressive Agra Fort, and of course, visit the beautiful Taj Mahal which we visit at sunset when the light is at its best. The tour then finishes back in Delhi.

Travel between the cities is done on Indian Railways in comfortable 2nd class AC carriages, which give a great view of rural India as it passes you by. Accommodation is in a mix of budget hotels, friendly homestays and heritage properties.
